Rabbi Susskind,

born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, studied the Talmud, Chassidic and Jewish Philosophy, and The Code of Jewish Law at the Michigan Jewish Institute, and then proceeded to  advance his studies at the Yeshivah Gedolah of Greater Miami.  He received his Rabbinical ordination from the Central Chabad Rabbinical Court in Israel.

Rabbi Susskind has spent the last ten years leading Adult Education Programs, Youth Groups, Student Groups, Synagogue Services, Holiday Programs, and Community Outreach Activities in places such as France, Ukraine, Israel, Canada, and across the United States of America.  Rabbi Susskind spent much of his time visiting Torah Academies around the world, teaching, guiding, and lifting the spirit of countless students, many of whom seek his counsel and advice until today.

For Chana, growing up in the heart of Brooklyn, an open home to all was a natural way of life.  After graduating with distinctions from Beth Rivkah High School, she received a Teacher’s Diploma in Education from the Beth Chana Seminary in Safed, Israel, a B.S. in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Thomas Edison State College, and an M.S. in Early Childhood Education from Touro College School of Education and Psychology, graduating each program with honors.

Her remarkable manner of setting a positive tone to any situation, along with her creative abilities and leadership skills, attracted invitations to communities and camps from Israel, to Denmark, to Sweden, from Michigan to  Minnesota, California to Connecticut and throughout the United States of America. Whether it be through Adult Education,  Youth Programming, Teen Groups, Summer and Winter Camps, or Shabbat and Holiday Programs, Chana's pleasant form of sharing the joys and the depth of Judaism gives her the ability to make everyone feel welcome and at home.

With their warm smiles and friendly approach, the Susskind’s have arrived at Asheville to permanently establish Chabad Lubavitch of Western North Carolina in June 2006, and have already begun establishing a wonderful rapport, and successful relationships in the Asheville area, drawing on every segment of this wonderful  and diverse community…
