Airport announces winners of holiday decorating contest
FLETCHER — The Asheville Regional Airport Authority has announced the winners of its fourth annual Holiday Decorating Contest, benefiting local charities.
Competing area businesses each sponsored a charity and decorated 11 Christmas trees and one menorah, now located throughout the terminal.
The public was invited to vote online via the Asheville Regional Airport Web site for their favorite display.
After more than 1,800 votes were tallied, the winners are:
• 1st Place:
Hendersonville Printing Company, benefiting the American Legion Post 77's Honor Air Fund.
• 2nd Place:
WNC Magazine, benefiting Arts for Life.
• 3rd Place:
Insurance Specialties, benefiting the Chabad House of Asheville.
• Most Creative:
Hendersonville Printing Company.
The three winning charities will receive contributions totaling $2,100 in the name of the sponsoring company.
“Asheville Regional Airport is proud to help bring local businesses and charities together through this contest,” said airport director Lew Bleiweis.
“We invite everyone to visit the airport and enjoy the displays this holiday season.”
