ASHEVILLE –The Inauguration Reception and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the new Chabad House of Asheville takes place at 1 p.m. Sunday at 660 Merrimon Ave. For the past year, Chabad has used various venues for its programs and events.
The Chabad House is the Asheville-WNC branch of the worldwide Chabad-Lubavitch movement. The new center will provide space for educational, social, cultural, life cycle, and family events, and will serve as a spiritual and physical resource center for the Asheville area.

The programs and services of The Chabad House are offered to all, regardless of affiliation, background, or membership. The Chabad House of Asheville was established on the foundation of the worldwide Chabad-Lubavitch movement: "Love Thy Fellow as Thyself"; with that being the guiding principle behind every thought, speech, and action at Chabad.

Among the programs and services of Chabad House are: Community holiday celebrations, Sunday Hebrew school of the arts, Jewish arts program for children, Crisis counseling and community social services, Bat/Bar Mitzvah training, Online Judaica store, High Holiday services, Hospital, prison and homebound visitation programs, Jewish Learning Institute, Jewish Women’s Circle, Community Shabbat dinners, College campus outreach, Synagogue services, Kitchen koshering, Glatt kosher catering
